3 has teamed up with Lifestyle Services Group Limited (LSG) to create 3Cover. So you can have the comfort of knowing your mobile phone or USB modem and/or laptop are protected against:

  • Loss (USB modem and mobile phone only, not available for laptop)
  • Theft
  • Accidental damage
  • Water or liquid damage
  • Electrical or mechanical breakdown

And as an added bonus your 3Cover policy also includes (for those policies purchased on, or after, 1st September 2009):

  • Increased cover for any accessories (up to a combined value of £300 per claim) that were lost (excludes laptops), stolen or damaged at the same time as your phone/USB modem/laptop

Please note, you can only purchase 3Cover directly from 3 within 30 days of taking out your contract. Claims for incidents which may occur prior to purchasing the insurance will not be valid.

Making a claim

Here's what you need to do:

  1. If you discover your mobile phone or USB modem has been lost or stolen, you must call 3 within 24 hours of discovery so that a block can be put on the SIM Card. This will stop anyone else from using it. For laptops, you will also need to contact 3 within 24 hours to let them know what’s happened.
  2. Contact the Police within 24 hours of discovery to obtain a crime reference/loss property number. You'll only need to do this if your product has been lost (modems and mobiles only), stolen or damaged maliciously.
  3. Register your claim with LSG within 48 hours of discovering the incident. They’ll take down all the details and let you know what will happen next. If you’re overseas you need to register your claim within the shorter of either 48 hours of returning to the UK or within 30 days of discovering the incident.
  4. If you are claiming for a damaged or faulty mobile or USB modem, you can track the progress of your repair online. On this page you will need to enter your mobile number and Job ID, which will have been given to you when your claim was accepted. The Job ID can also be found on the letter in the pack you received from our repair centre.
